Destination Google Earth is Up and Running

Destination Google Earth set up by Scot McAdoo, that I wrote about earlier in the summer during the NECC is now in full swing. I think this promises to be a great resource for teachers wanting to use Google Earth in the classroom. Not only is there a forum for sharing lesson ideas and asking questions, but Scot plans to have many tutorials to help teachers of all levels better utilize the tools. Online K12 Conference

I just wanted to pass on what is building up to be an amazing online conference. Based on the names of the "presenters," if that is even the right word, this will be an event not to miss. David has set up Hitchhikr for the conference with the tags "k12online06" and "k12onlineand." Will Richardson has posted info giving the details. The timing is not the best with school starting, but with the info presented hopefully there will be lessons or tools that I can incorporate into my classroom right away.

Beginning of the School Year

I realized that I can't possibly be in a bad mood. This is the beginning of the new school year. There is so much to look forward to. I have new lessons to try out with new web apps. I get to implement ideas on how to continue to improve what I did last year. For all those not in the classroom this is the end of the summer, when there are no major holidays to really look forward to for a few months. The days seem the same as the weather has not changed yet for the fall season. I remember when I was younger that this Labor Day holiday was the beginning of school, but I've already been teaching for three weeks.
